10:00am-11:00am Interested? Tai Chi, famous in China. A complete exercise giving health, strength and a peaceful heart.
Start the weekend by studying the famously relaxing art of Tai Chi.... the Chinese art of Tai Chi form is a series of individual postures which link up and blend into a continuous flowing movement.
The basic premise of Tai Chi is to create a good body habit. No movement should cause injury but should be natural to the body. Movement starts from the feet, travels gracefully through the body, lifting the crown of the head, opening the spine and expanding the lungs - helping you to feel more balanced and vital.
It can promote relaxation, calming the mind while at the same time causing one to be more aware of one's body, become more connected to and be in more control of one's body. It can concentrate the mind, teaching awareness of weight distribution and improving balance by attaining a central equilibrium.
Chris has studied Tai Chi for nearly 20 years; he is proficient in all aspects of the syllabus set by Alan Peck, who was a personal student of Dr. Chi Chiang-Tao, a pupil of the famous master Cheng Man-Ching. Chris has also studied with other Chinese and Tibetan masters of different traditions, he has studied and taught Solo, Partner and Sword forms for health and relaxation. He has worked for Bristol City Council and other community groups and is a qualified exercise referral specialist.
