Sunday 11th December 4:00pm-6:00pm Join us for a festive sing-song and walk around Arnos Vale with traditional tunes, familiar favourites and dances all around Ceremonial Way. Treat yourself to warming mulled drinks and mince pies when the hearty singing works up an appetite.
FREE ENTRY! All welcome!
Audience participation absolutely, positively encouraged! There will be carol sheets available from the Spielman Centre along with candles and holders (small charge applies) with the marvellous musical melodies provided by Eric Holdaway on his accordian so there's no excuses for not knowing the lyrics! A magical festive event for all the family. Be sure to sing along! Musicians and Rag Morris Dancers in colourful costumes will kick off proceedings with dancing on Ceremonial Way at 4:00pm and again at 5:00pm! The choir starts at 4:25 with a couple of Christmas carols followed by more fun and frivolity with a traditional lamplit Wassail (blessing of the cemetery's apple tree) on Ceremonial Way. After this time the candlelit carol procession begins which will run through the cemetery, with musical stops and refreshments along the way!
The bar will also be open so you can choose from a selection of local ales and ciders as well as red/white wine, Victorian Lemonade, Ginger Beer and tea/coffee/hot chocolate. So pull your winter warmers on, come down to Arnos Vale and join us for some hearty festive singing! FREE Community Event, all welcome! Donations to support Arnos Vale Cemetery are gratefully received. |
