From dusk til dark - 8:30pm-10:30pm Join Arnos Vale's Bat Detectors in a dusk-to-dark cemetery tour. SOLD OUT Simon Gurr's illustration for Secret Cemetery Trail As the bats fly by night to hunt, come on a two-hour adventure and be amazed by these beautiful creatures - the only winged mammals in the world. Led by local Bat expert (and gravedigger!) Dan Flew, the "Bat Detectors" will be equipped with special sonic detectors to track and identify the different species of bat that use Arnos Vale. Wear warm waterproof clothing, sensible footwear and bring a torch! More on the Guide:
Daniel Flew is a member of Avon Bat group, a wildlife enthusiast, local Totterdown resident and is also a grave digger for South Gloucestershire council, giving him a unique expertise of Bat hunting in a cemetery. He says: "I have always had a passion for wildlife and spent most of my youth looking under logs and rocks!".
How to Book
Tickets are £7/£5 concessions (OAPs, Guardian Angels, children under 12 years). Please visit the Box Office Reception located in the Gift Shop of the East Lodge building. This building is located to the left of the cemetery from the main Bath Road entrance. Reception is open from Monday - Saturday 10:00-4:00pm. You can also send a cheque, made payable to Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust to the following address and your tickets will be posted out to you.
