Have you been inspired by "Who Do You Think You Are?" and want to begin delving into your own roots? If you aren't sure how to get started then this is the workshop for you. You will go away armed with the skills to start discovering your family history. An informative half day workshop with practical activities which will help you start learning the research skills to begin researching your family tree.

The aim of this workshop is to start you on the first stage of your journey of discovery. You will learn how to get started, where to find information, what to look for and how to record your research. The workshop will be supported by people who have first-hand experience of discovering their own family history.

The session will be an informative workshop with practical activities. You will go away armed with the skills to start discovering your family history.

Discover your story and your place in history. Learn the skills needed to do your own research. Find out sources of first hand evidence and how to use them, understand research methods, timelines and historical terminology - also learn how to avoid misleading material.

A series of practical activities in and outdoors. Read gravestones, use records and find resources.

Alternatively please visit the Box Office Reception located in the Gift Shop of the East Lodge building. This building is located to the left of the cemetery from the main Bath Road entrance. Reception is open from Monday - Saturday 10:00-4:00pm.

You can also send a cheque, made payable to Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust to the following address and your tickets will be posted out to you.
