Arnos Vale Cemetery is a nationally important and treasured cemetery close to the heart of Bristol. There are over 150,000 graves here with new burial plots being released on a limited basis each year. Alongside this we are developing new areas for cremation plots and interment for ashes and enclaves around the site for reflection and contemplation, including contemporary memorial art installations. The opportunities for Woodland scattering of ashes and support of the wildlife at Arnos Vale are increasing and include the purchase of bird and bat boxes.

Burials

Families who have space in existing plots in Arnos Vale Cemetery are welcome to continue to arrange burials in this special setting.

Interment of Ashes

Plots for the interment of your loved one's ashes are available in several specially-designated places at Arnos Vale Cemetery.  This allows you to mark their resting place with a plaque or tablet.  For more information please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Scattering of Ashes

Arnos Vale Cemetery contains two Gardens of Rest.  Each of these peaceful spaces is enhanced by a contemporary memorial sculpture.  These settings allow families and friends to return whenever they wish, to reflect on the life of their loved one in their final resting place.

Following an attended scatter, we provide a card with the grid reference for the spot on which your loved one's ashes have been scattered, so that future generations can continue to visit and remember.

Chapel Hire

You can hold a funeral or remembrance service at Arnos Vale in our beautiful and restored Chapel.  The listed Victorian building is available for hire by people interring loved ones at Arnos Vale or elsewhere.  Arnos Vale cemetery has always welcomed those of all faiths or none.  The Chapel has a simple interior and can be used for any kind of service.

The Chapel can be hired for periods from one hour to a full day, depending upon your requirements, and a personal, dedicated, attentive service is guaranteed by our team.  Music and catering can also be arranged on your behalf.

Funeral packages which include the burial, interment or scattering of ashes, hire of the chapel, headstone and entry into the Books of Remembrance are available.
