The Bristol Dinosaur Project aims to develop an interactive exhibit, displaying the dinosaur and the environment in which it lived. Running alongside the exhibition will be an education programme to encourage wider understanding of the evolution of the environment and the ecosystems through the 'Dinosaur Age'. As part of the educational aspect of the project, school children in Bristol will be encouraged to either visit the laboratory or to see the work involved in reconstructing Thecodontosaurus and its environment in their own school. Join us at Arnos Vale for the Dino Discovery Workshops - an event for the whole family to enjoy as well as our evening talk with Prof Mike Benton from Bristol Dinosaur Project about Samuel Stutchbury on 24th February. 1911-2011 - 8th March is International Women's Day - in conjunction with this event Arnos Vale will be running two tours on Saturday 12th March - the first starting at 10:00am-11:30am and the second at 2:00pm-3:30pm to celebrate some Wonderful Women who lived in Bristol from Victorian times to mid 20th Century. Totterdown Residents Environmental and Social Action
The Bristol & Avon Family History Society was formed in 1975 to encourage the study of family history and genealogy in Bristol and what was then the County of Avon. It aimed to provide contacts between members, both by regular meetings and through a quarterly journal and to assist one another with problems encountered during research work.
Based in the southeast of Bristol, UK. We are made up of residents, interested individuals, members of community groups and representatives from business, schools, churches and statutory agencies such as Bristol City Council's Youth Services, Community Development and Housing, Health and Social Services).
The Royal British Legion safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces. It is one of the UK's largest membership organisations and recognised as custodians of Remembrance. It runs the annual Poppy Appeal: not just for those who fought in the two World Wars, but also those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting today.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission Established by Royal Charter in 1917, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission pays tribute to the 1,700,000 men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the two world wars.
Is a free sketching group who meet once a week in Bristol. They go to a different location every week and spend a couple of hours sketching, after which they all go for a coffee and a chat. It's a great way to meet fellow minded artists and practice your sketching. They have members of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and styles, so no matter what level you're at and no matter what you like to draw, you're welcome to join.
October saw two amazing performances of Shakespeares Measure for Measure and Two Gentlemen of Verona by this highly acclaimed theatre company! Their performances are outstanding and Arnos Vale hopes to have them back again for 2012. |
